I also want to make sure you understand a few things about gradings. All of the gradings held at North Sydney are on Saturdays, as this is when we have the facilities and trainers available to give all of you a great grading experience. It is also the day when we have the most people, so there is a positive energy vibe for the grading. This positive energy makes the grading a memorable experience for everyone.  I know that many of you have to make sacrifices in order to grade on a Saturday. The grading session will be the length of the normal class. If you want to progress in martial arts, somehow you will find away.

Grading registration (with the exception of students grading to Black Belt) closes one week before the grading. This is so we can employ the correct number of trainers. In addition, belts need to be ordered in time for delivery. This is why we cannot add more people once the grading register closes. It would blow our numbers out very quickly, which makes it uncomfortable for everyone. I also hate having to tell you or your children that we do not have your grading belt due to a late registration.

We run gradings every 6 weeks, so the next grading is never far away in any case. However, you or your child still need to ensure you have sufficient attendance, plus your technique needs to be at a level where your trainers say you can grade.
